Nottingham Forest's pre-season struggles persisted with a goalless draw against Fiorentina at the City Ground. Despite being outplayed, Forest managed to keep the score even, thanks to crucial saves by Matz Sels in both halves. The Premier League team found themselves on the back foot for much of the match.
David de Gea, formerly of Manchester United, was tested early on. After 13 minutes, he made an important save to stop Dan Ndoye, a recent addition to Forest's squad. Sels denied Cher Ndour from a corner and Moise Kean from close range after he navigated through Forest's defence.

The second half saw fewer chances for both teams. However, Sels was called upon again in the 85th minute to make another significant save. Meanwhile, substitutes Taiwo Awoniyi and Jota Silva couldn't find success at the other end of the pitch.
Nuno Espirito Santo's side has now gone six pre-season matches without a win. They have drawn four times and lost twice, with defeats against Fulham and Birmingham City. Alarmingly, Forest has only scored once during this period, with all draws ending 0-0.
Forest is set to play Al-Qadisiyah in their final pre-season fixture before the Premier League kicks off. Fiorentina will conclude their England tour with a match against Manchester United on Sunday.
This pre-season has highlighted attacking issues for Nuno Espirito Santo's team. Their inability to find the net consistently is a concern as they prepare for competitive matches ahead.
