Nottingham Forest's head coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, expressed disappointment over his team's first-half performance in their 2-1 loss to Aston Villa. The home side quickly took control, scoring twice within the first 15 minutes. Although Forest improved after halftime, with Jota Silva scoring in the 57th minute, Nuno felt the overall performance fell short.
Nuno shared his thoughts with Sky Sports, stating: "We didn't start well and Villa controlled chances. The second half was different. We had the chances but we couldn't score." He acknowledged that while Forest created numerous opportunities after the break, they failed to capitalize on them. "First half was not good, we were not organised," he added.

Neco Williams echoed his coach's sentiments about the slow start. He noted that Villa dominated early on and created more chances. Williams said, "We came in [at the break] and things had to change. Second half, we created many chances but it's the goals you need and unfortunately we just couldn't get them."
Conversely, Aston Villa's head coach Unai Emery praised his team's initial performance but expressed dissatisfaction with their second-half display. "We started dominating," he said. Emery highlighted how Villa capitalized on Forest's tactical setup by creating chances and scoring early goals.
Morgan Rogers was instrumental in Villa's fast start, netting the opening goal at 13 minutes. This marked his eighth Premier League goal of the season. Rogers emphasized their need for a quick start to achieve their Premier League ambitions.
Emery noted that Forest altered their tactics in the second half, pressing higher and engaging more aggressively in duels. This shift reduced Villa's dominance on the field. Despite this, Emery remained pleased with securing three crucial points.
The victory marked Villa's third consecutive league win, placing them sixth in the standings. They are now just one point behind Chelsea in fourth place and six points away from third-placed Forest with seven matches remaining.
Rogers described his goal against Forest as a result of strategic positioning and teamwork. He explained how he capitalized on a moment when Forest defender Morato wasn't looking: "I saw [Forest defender] Morato not looking and once Youri Tielemans got the ball, I had to make the move."
This win is significant for Aston Villa as they continue to push for a higher position in the Premier League table. The team remains focused on maintaining their momentum as they approach the final stretch of the season.
