Nottingham Forest moved out of the Premier League relegation places despite a 0-0 draw with Fulham at the City Ground, where Dan Ndoye had a second-half strike disallowed. West Ham’s surprise point against Manchester City had increased the pressure, yet Forest responded with energy, even if the crucial winning goal never arrived.
Forest generated the game’s clearest openings. Ola Aina dipped a swerving effort onto the bar after half-time, before substitute Ndoye volleyed past Bernd Leno. VAR quickly ruled the finish out for offside against Ndoye, who had earlier seen a potential penalty cancelled following another review after Calvin Bassey’s challenge.

Fulham also threatened at times, though the visitors lacked their usual fluency in attack. Bassey headed straight at Matz Sels from close range during the first half, while Rodrigo Muniz had a fierce goalbound attempt blocked by Aina. Taiwo Awoniyi twice went close late on, yet Forest’s search for a decisive goal continued.
| Team | Goals | Shots on target | Points after 30 games | Current league run | Games without scoring |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nottingham Forest | 0 | Multiple, including Aina and Ndoye chances | Not specified | Winless in 7 league matches | 14 |
| Fulham | 0 | 0 | 41 | Chasing Everton in eighth | Not specified |
Marco Silva’s Fulham, usually noted for attacking football, did not register a single shot on target. It was only the second time this season they failed to hit the target, matching their blank against Arsenal in October. Fulham missed the chance to draw level with Everton in eighth, remaining on 41 points.
Those 41 points keep Fulham on course for one of their stronger top-flight campaigns. Only in 1959-60, 2022-23 and 2024-25 have they collected more points after 30 matches, with totals of 45, 42 and 45 respectively. Three of those four seasons have come under Silva’s management, underlining steady progress.
Forest’s problems are more severe. The club is now without a Premier League victory in seven games, their longest sequence since a nine-match spell between 24 August and 1 November 2025. Forest have failed to score in 14 of their 30 league fixtures, with only Wolves drawing a blank more often this season, on 15 occasions.
The stalemate reflected a tense evening, which Nottingham Forest later acknowledged on social media.
Forest leave the pitch outside the relegation zone, yet still searching for a result to end the current slide.
