Nottingham Forest Secures Ola Aina With New Three-Year Contract Following Impressive Campaign

Nottingham Forest has extended Ola Aina's contract for three years after his standout performance in the 2024-25 season. The right-back contributed significantly to the team's success, helping them secure a place in European competition.

Nottingham Forest have secured right-back Ola Aina with a new three-year contract following his impressive performance in the 2024-25 season. Aina's previous contract was set to end in 2026, but an automatic extension was triggered when Forest avoided relegation. The team narrowly missed out on a Champions League spot, finishing seventh after a final-day loss to Chelsea. They will participate in the Conference League next season, marking their return to European competition since 1995-96.

Aina's new contract follows long-term deals with striker Chris Wood and centre-back Murillo. Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo also extended his stay until 2028 last month. Aina, who joined from Torino on a free transfer in 2023, expressed his excitement on the club's website: "I'm over the moon, I can't wait to continue this journey with the club. It's always felt like home ever since I joined and I'm happy to be here. Now my focus is on preparing for the new season well and getting back to hard work."

Ola Aina Signs New Contract with Nottingham Forest

Last season, Aina played a crucial role in Nottingham Forest's defence, contributing to 11 clean sheets across 35 Premier League matches. He scored twice and provided one assist during this period. In terms of clean sheets, only Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk (14), Forest teammate Nikola Milenkovic, Newcastle United's Dan Burn (both 13), and Arsenal's William Saliba (12) surpassed him.

Aina also excelled in dribbling and tackling. He completed the sixth-most dribbles among defenders in the league with 33 successful attempts. Additionally, he made 42 tackles, ranking him among the top defenders for tackles won.

Nottingham Forest are set to begin their 2025-26 Premier League campaign against Brentford on August 17. Shortly after, they will face a Conference League play-off tie on August 21. This marks an exciting period for the club as they aim to make their mark in European football once again.

The club announced Aina's contract extension through their official Twitter account:

This commitment from key players and management reflects Nottingham Forest's ambition to build on last season’s achievements and strive for greater success both domestically and in Europe.
