Nottingham Forest have secured David Carmo from Porto for £10 million (€11.7 million). The defender will spend the upcoming season on loan at Olympiacos. Carmo, who plays internationally for Angola, had a stint in Athens during the latter part of last season.
Carmo has signed a five-year contract with Nottingham Forest, marking their ninth acquisition this summer. He started his professional journey at Braga before transferring to Porto for €20 million in 2022. However, he only made 27 appearances before being loaned to Olympiacos in January.

Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis also owns Olympiacos, facilitating Carmo's loan move. The club announced on social media: "We’re pleased to announce the signing of David Carmo. The defender has joined the club on a five-year deal and will spend the 2024/25 season on loan at @olympiacosfc."
In other transfer news, Nottingham Forest's attempt to sign Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has reportedly fallen through. However, they are now rumoured to be negotiating with Feyenoord for Santiago Gimenez, a Mexican forward who netted 23 goals in the Eredivisie last season.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team is actively seeking to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season. Gimenez’s impressive goal-scoring record makes him a promising target for Forest.
The club's strategic moves in the transfer market reflect their ambition to strengthen the squad significantly. Fans are eagerly watching how these new additions will impact their performance in the upcoming season.
With these developments, Nottingham Forest aims to build a competitive team capable of achieving their goals in both domestic and international competitions.
