Nottingham vs Arsenal: Mikel Arteta gives 'Deadbody' motivation ahead of Nottingham Trip

By MyKhel Staff

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is still adamant that the Gunners have hopes in the Premier League title race.

Despite a recent 1-0 defeat to West Ham United that ended a 15-game unbeaten run and left Arsenal 11 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, Arteta remains resolute in his pursuit of the title.

Arteta emphasized the team's commitment and said that they will not stop in their pursuit.

"We're not going to stop. Over my dead body. If not, I will go home. Mathematically it is possible. You are there, you have to play every game. Suddenly, three days ago, we could close a gap, and you are like 'you are one-and-a-half games away'", Arteta said at the pre-match press conference for the Nottingham Forest trip.

Arsenal's title challenge has been hampered by season-ending injuries to key players such as Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus, with Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka also sidelined. Looking ahead, the Gunners face a challenging away match against third-placed Nottingham Forest on Wednesday. And the Spaniard believes his boys will have to pull the rabbit out of the hat to make a strong title bid.

"It doesn't matter, we have to continue to go. The difficulty is greater than three days about but if you are going to win the Premier League you have to do something special.

If you are going to win the title in the circumstances we have, you will probably have to do something that nobody else has done in the history of the Premier League," the Gunners boss added.

Following the Nottingham Forest match, Arsenal will continue their Champions League campaign with a two-legged round-of-16 clash against PSV Eindhoven.

The North London club have missed out on the Premier League title last two seasons in a row by a very close margin. In the 2022-23 season, Arsenal squandered their opportunity despite having a healthy lead, while last season, they missed out the title for just 2 points, both times against Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.
