Nottingham vs Man City: Will Erling Haaland play today in Premier League?

Manchester City are set to lock horns against Nottingham Forest in an important Premier League match today (March 9).

Ahead of that, Erling Haaland's probable appearance for the match is under doubt, as the Norwegian's involvement is not yet assured.

Haaland recently suffered a knee injury during Manchester City's 4-0 victory over Newcastle United on February 15, which led to his substitution just before the final whistle. He subsequently missed matches against Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Manager Pep Guardiola has expressed optimism about Haaland's recovery, stating that the injury is "not dangerous" and that the striker could return "soon."

Since then, Haaland has been featured in the last two matches where he played a full 90 minutes against Tottenham and then 31 minutes more in the FA Cup win over Plymouth Argyle.

The 24-year-old so far netted 28 goals for the Cityzens this season, and is an important part of their zigsaw. He participated in all training sessions for City ahead of the match and is expected to feature.

Will Erling Haaland play for Man City?

Given this context, Haaland's inclusion in the starting lineup against Nottingham Forest remains uncertain. His participation will likely hinge on a late fitness test and his own assessment of his readiness to play.

City still have FA Cup as a potential title option this season and Guardiola will not rush his premier striker for the Premier League, given their current status in league table.
