Nuno Espirito Santo expressed that West Ham deserved more than a draw at Old Trafford after they rallied to secure a 1-1 result against Manchester United. Soungoutou Magassa's late equaliser in the 83rd minute earned West Ham a point, following Diogo Dalot's goal for the hosts just before the hour mark. Since Nuno took charge on September 29, only Aston Villa have gained more points from losing positions than West Ham's eight.
Despite not yet securing an away win under Nuno, with their last victory on the road occurring in August against Nottingham Forest, he remains optimistic about the team's progress. "We should be proud of the work of the boys. They work really hard to contain Man Utd," he told Sky Sports. "We went for the game. The boys worked really hard. We have to be glad."

Nuno was particularly pleased with his team's resilience and performance at Old Trafford. He noted that they were dominant at times and had momentum on their side when Magassa scored. "I was happy [when the equaliser went in]. I was very, very happy because I think we were on top of the game in that moment; we had momentum," he said.
Magassa's goal marked his first for West Ham, making him the 179th different player to score a Premier League goal for the club, excluding own goals. This achievement ties them with Tottenham for having the most diverse set of goalscorers in Premier League history.
Although West Ham remains in the relegation zone, two points behind Leeds United in 17th place, Magassa believes this point is crucial. "The feeling is amazing," he told Sky Sports. "We played a good game as a team. We all fight for everyone." He emphasised his commitment to giving his best for fans and teammates.
Looking ahead, Nuno highlighted the importance of recovery before their next match against Brighton. He stated that positive results and performances help players recover faster, which will be crucial for their upcoming challenge on Sunday.
Despite missing an earlier chance when he hit the side netting with the score still 0-0, Magassa remained upbeat about his contribution and future performances. His determination to continue playing well reflects his dedication to both personal growth and team success.
West Ham's ability to fight back from losing positions has been notable since Nuno took over. Their resilience has been key in earning valuable points, even if victories have been elusive away from home so far this season.
The draw at Old Trafford showcased West Ham's fighting spirit under Nuno Espirito Santo's leadership. While they aim for better results moving forward, this performance demonstrated their potential to compete against strong opponents like Manchester United.
