Brown made his mark in the Championship with eight goals and five assists across his two loan spells at Huddersfield and Rotherham and immediately caught the attention of his parent club.

However, with vast competition in the Chelsea squad, the management has decided to send him out on loan again for more game time and Premier League experience.

The English league title winners see him as a potential star for the future and before sending him on loan they tied him down to a new contract until 2021.

The youngster was also wanted by his previous club Huddersfield Town, however, the forward rejected the chance to rejoin the Terriers and eventually opted to join the Seagulls.

Brighton boss Chris Hughton hailed the young forward after the confirmation and told the club's official website: "The natural progression for Izzy, having enjoyed such a successful season in the Championship last season, was to step up to the Premier League."

"We are delighted he will be doing that with us here at Brighton."

"He is a player with great potential and will bring a different dimension to our attacking options for the season ahead, alongside our existing strikers."

Brown will now join the long list of his Chelsea team-mates like Tammy Abraham (Swansea City), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Crystal Palace) and Kurt Zouma (Stoke City) who also moved from Chelsea on loan to fellow Premier League clubs for more game time.
