Official: Mario Gotze leaves Bayern Munich to join Borussia Dortmund

Munich, July 21: It is official German midfielder Mario Gotze is moving back to Borussia Dortmund from Bayern Munich after spending two seasons at the club.

Both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich announced the news on twitter and their official website.

The tweet read:

Bayern released an official statement on their website which read: "The negotiations were very fair and serious. We'd like to thank Borussia Dortmund, Mario, his father as well as his agent for that," said FC Bayern MÜnchen AG chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

"I think the transfer is a good solution for all parties. FC Bayern thanks Mario Götze for three years wearing the Bayern shirt and wishes him all the best for the future."
