The tweet read:

After joining the club the former Arsenal youngster said: "Newcastle is a massive football club and to be given the opportunity to come here and progress my career is fantastic.

"Being at Arsenal was a great experience, I learnt a lot there and have a lot to thank them for, but I needed to move on and so when Newcastle came in for me I jumped at the chance.

"I am still young but I want to get as many games under my belt as I can and help the team bounce back to the Premier League."

About the signing, manager Rafa Benitez opined: "We continue with our plan to bring in players who are hungry to succeed and prove themselves, which Isaac really is.

"He is also a player who can play in different positions, which is very useful.

"Isaac is a young, strong English player with fantastic potential but also with some experience already of the Championship. We welcome him to the Club."

Arsenal too released a statement confirming Hayden's departure. The statement read: "Isaac Hayden has joined Championship club Newcastle United in a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.

"The versatile midfielder who helped Hull City win promotion to the Premier League last season, captained our under-21s as well as featuring twice for the first team - both in the League Cup.

A"n England under-21 international, Isaac also appeared in the Emirates Cup last year in the victories over Lyon and Wolfsburg.
We thank Isaac for his contribution to the club and wish him well in his future career."

The 21-year-old English player was promoted from youth academy to Arsenal senior team in 2013. But due to lack of opportunities at such a big club, the player was loaned out to Hull City last season.
