Usian Bolt to play for Manchester United
Manchester, Sept 5: Usain Bolt could fulfil his childhood dream of playing with Manchester United next season in a friendly game against Real Madrid legends. The Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson is willing to give the world's fastest a chance to play with his favourite club.

Bolt, who became the only sprinter to retain the of 100m and 200m title at the London Olympics, was the guest of honour at United's first home game against Fulham. The Old Trafford club's faithful fans were cheering Bolt and urging Ferguson to sign the 25-year-old Jamaican.

"Usain's a character and a big United fan," a daily quoted Ferguson, as saying.

"But it's interesting he says he'd like to play in a charity game. It could be brilliant and next year when we play Real Madrid's Legends again, there could be opportunities to bring him up and see how he does," he added.

Bolt had requested the 70-year-old Scot to hand him a trial at Old Trafford. Speaking after his success at the games, he said, "People think I am joking. But if Alex Ferguson called me up and said, 'OK let's do this, come and have a trial', it would be impossible for me to say no."

"I would not take up the challenge if I didn't think I was good enough. I am a very accomplished player and know I could make a difference," he said.

Ferguson also revealed how he cashed-in on Bolt's incredible record at the games.

"I must thank him because that was my biggest bet. Bolt was 4/5 to win each of them a week before the Olympics started. It was a brilliant bet," Ferguson said.

"I watched all the Olympics. For us to get 29 gold medals was terrific. It was probably the most uplifting thing that's happened in Britain for a long, long time," he added.
