Olympic star Usain Bolt wants Manchester United trial

London, Aug 7: Olympic star Usain Bolt has urged Sir Alex Ferguson for a trial with Premier League giants Manchester United. A fan of the Red Devils, Bolt would love to play football with his beloved club.

Bolt, who met the team and Ferguson back in 2009, retained his 100 metres crown on Sunday. The 25-year-old Jamaican is hoping to defend his 200 metres title on the finals on Thursday.

However, the Jamaican is willing to swap his athlete's spikes for football boots.

"People think I am joking, but if Sir Alex Ferguson called me up and said 'Okay, let's do this. Come and have a trial', it would be impossible for me to say no," Bolt was quoted as saying in the Sun.

A midfielder back in his high school days, Bolt is ready to showcase his footballing skills with the most successful club in the Premier League.

"I would not take up the challenge if I didn't think I was good enough. I am a very accomplished player and know I could make a difference."

"I would be the fastest player in the team - but I can play as well," he added.

The fastest man on the planet said, "I am in Britain for a few more days. If Alex Ferguson wants to give me a call he knows where I am."
