The Men's Football in the Olympics 2024 saw enthralling group-stage fixtures. After the conclusion of the group stages, eight teams have advanced to the quarterfinals.
A number of mouthwatering clashes await in the knockout rounds of the football tournament as Argentina, Spain, France, and Japan are among the notable teams fighting for the Olympic glory.

Hosts France have advanced to the knockouts with a 100 per cent winning record in Group A. They are followed by USA who won two out of their three matches. In Group B, Morocco have eclipsed Argentina to top while Los Albicelestes managed to get the runners-up spot.
Egypt secured a famous win over Spain to get the summit spot in Group C, whereas Japan and Paraguay have qualified for the knockouts from Group D.
Among the 8 teams, only Morocco and Egypt have never won an Olympic medal in football. Argentina secured consecutive Gold medals in 2004 and 2008, whereas Paraguay won Silver in 2004. Spain's last olympic medal in men's football was in 2000 and France got their Gold in 1984. Japan managed a Bronze in 1968 Olympics and USA got Silver and Bronze in 1904 Olympics, as two different teams represented the country.
France will lock horns with Argentina, which is the flagship encounter in the quarterfinals. Apart from that, Spain's 2nd placed finish means they are to play against Japan. Morocco, who beat Argentina in the group stages, will lock horns against USA, while Egypt will be taking on Paraguay in the other quarterfinal.
