Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso recently found herself in the spotlight after making a surprising revelation about her interactions with Brazilian football icon Neymar Junior. Alonso, who was at the center of a controversy surrounding her alleged removal from the Paris Olympics 2024 village, shared that Neymar had privately messaged her on Instagram.
However, she remained tight-lipped about the details of their conversation. Speaking on the Paraguayan radio show Aire de Todos, the 20-year-old swimmer confirmed the message but emphasised that it was left in the "request" section of her DMs, suggesting that it was an unsolicited and perhaps unexpected communication.

She chose not to elaborate further, stating, "He sent me a DM. That's all I can say. It was left on the request form. I cannot tell this here."
In the midst of the social media buzz, Alonso also addressed the rumors that she had been expelled from the Olympic Games Village for allegedly creating an "inappropriate atmosphere." She firmly denied these claims, urging the public to "stop spreading false information."
According to Alonso, there was no truth to the reports of her removal or expulsion, and she stressed that the situation had been misrepresented. This clarification came after days of speculation, highlighting the often complex relationship between athletes and the media during high-stakes events like the Olympics.
Meanwhile, Neymar himself has been recovering from a serious knee injury, which has sidelined him from the upcoming Saudi Pro League season.
The Brazilian forward, now with Al Hilal after leaving PSG in a high-profile move, underwent surgery for a torn ACL and meniscus damage following an injury sustained during a World Cup qualifier against Uruguay. His absence from the pitch has been a significant setback for Al Hilal, despite their recent league triumph, marking their 19th title win.
