Oxford United Maintains Unbeaten Streak With Draw Against Plymouth Argyle; Watford Salvages Point At Cardiff City

Oxford United drew 1-1 with Plymouth Argyle, extending their unbeaten run to five matches. Meanwhile, Watford ended their losing streak with an equaliser against Cardiff City.

Oxford United maintained their unbeaten streak in the Championship by drawing 1-1 with Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday. Will Vaulks scored a stunning goal from outside the box in the 44th minute, giving Oxford the lead despite Plymouth's early dominance. Rami Al Hajj had two close attempts for Plymouth in the first 15 minutes of Miron Muslic's debut as manager.

In the second half, Plymouth responded well to being a goal down at halftime. Al Hajj finally found the net, heading in a cross from newcomer Tymoteusz Puchacz. Oxford's Siriki Dembele nearly secured a win with two late chances, but Plymouth held firm to earn a point.

Oxford and Watford Both Secure Draws in Championship

Despite Dembele's efforts in stoppage time, Oxford couldn't break through again. The match ended level, extending Oxford's unbeaten run to five games under Gary Rowett. This result was crucial for both teams as they continue their Championship campaigns.

Elsewhere, Watford ended their four-game losing streak across all competitions with an equaliser from Vakoun Bayo in the 87th minute against Cardiff City. Cian Ashford had given Cardiff the lead in the 65th minute with a composed finish after they slightly edged a game of few opportunities.

Watford struggled to create chances even after Ashford's goal but managed to secure a point with their first shot on target. Despite this draw, Cardiff moved out of the relegation zone but remain just three points ahead of bottom-placed Plymouth.

The results reflect ongoing challenges for both teams as they navigate their league positions. Oxford continues to build momentum under Rowett, while Watford seeks stability after breaking their losing streak.
