Lucas Paqueta remains dedicated to West Ham United after being cleared of spot-fixing allegations, according to Graham Potter. The Brazilian midfielder, who joined the team in 2022, was under scrutiny for a potential breach of betting rules but will not face suspension. Despite the investigation casting doubt on his future, Paqueta is committed to the club.
Potter expressed optimism about Paqueta's situation, noting that anything can happen during transfer windows. "You never know for sure because anything can happen in the window with anybody," he stated at a media conference. "But the news is incredibly positive." He emphasised Paqueta's importance to the team and his happiness at West Ham.

Last season, Paqueta played 33 Premier League matches for West Ham, scoring four goals from an expected tally of 5.3 goals (xG). Although he did not record any assists, he created 36 chances, second only to captain Jarrod Bowen's 51. His performances have sparked interest from Manchester City.
West Ham recently participated in the Premier League Summer Series, where they defeated Everton 2-1 after losing by the same score to Manchester United. Potter spoke ahead of their match against Bournemouth on Sunday. The Hammers finished 14th in the Premier League last season.
To strengthen their attack, West Ham signed Callum Wilson as a free agent following his departure from Newcastle United. Meanwhile, Michail Antonio's future with the club remains uncertain. When asked about Antonio's role in the 2025-26 season, Potter simply replied: "No."
The club has not made a formal decision regarding Antonio, whose contract ended in July. A statement highlighted their priority to support him personally as he aims to continue playing at a high level. Antonio joined West Ham from Nottingham Forest in 2015 for an undisclosed fee reported to be £7 million.
The 35-year-old has been a significant figure at West Ham since joining, making 323 appearances across all competitions. During his time with the Hammers, Antonio scored 83 goals and provided 38 assists. He is regarded as a long-serving and respected player within the club.
Potter acknowledged Paqueta's resilience through challenging times due to the investigation. "You can imagine on a personal level for him, having to fight those allegations was an incredible challenge," Potter said. He credited Paqueta and his family for enduring this tough period successfully.
The conclusion of this investigation allows Paqueta to focus on his football career without distractions. His commitment and contributions remain vital for West Ham United as they prepare for upcoming challenges in domestic competitions.
