The Indian Super League (ISL) has carved out a distinct path in the country's footballing scene over the previous decade, inspiring young players to compete against the finest in the business.
The ISL has been pierced by several feelings. Currently, it serves as an aspirational platform, having cultivated numerous emerging stars. One of the stories is that of Parthib Gogoi, the 20-year-old star of NorthEast United FC.

"Being able to play for NorthEast United FC is a dream come true for me." It means a lot to me. My parents envisioned both of our brothers (Pragyan Gogoi and him) playing on the same team. When they yell my name, it motivates me to work harder. Because I used to be one of those supporters, watching our club's matches. So it's a great feeling and experience all around," Gogoi said during an encounter about the opportunity to play for the team.
Gogoi, full of optimism, has set his team's goals for the season. He is confident that the Highlanders would be the underdogs who surprise stronger opponents in the ISL 2023-24 season. They won 3-0 at home against Chennaiyin FC, and the youthful winger is optimistic that many more such exciting performances are in store for them in the coming months. Individually, Parthib has already matched his goal-scoring total from last season by scoring three times this season.
Gogoi also said,"I've mentioned that we're a surprise package that will surprise a lot of teams." We will continue to give our all in all games. My performances have made me very delighted. I'm simply thinking about the next game. The coach has encouraged me to keep playing well and not give up anytime soon. I'd want to thank all of the support staff for their assistance; without them, I would not have performed as well. This is entirely their fault. During the off-season, I was wounded. For the most part, I was rehabilitating."
"As soon as I healed, I began focusing on my shooting ability," he continued. My fitness levels have improved. "When pre-season started, the coach told me to work on specific things, and I started improving them and am still working on them," he added.
Meanwhile, head coach Juan Pedro Benali is confident about Gogoi's future, but he warns fans not to get too excited. He believes the player has a long way to go before becoming a final product and has urged supporters to be patient and not place too many expectations on him right soon.
"I have something really important to tell you. This chap (Parthib) over here is quite young. He's just getting started. We have some stairs to climb. We can't get to the fourth stair without first completing the first three. Give him time, and he'll be a fantastic player. "But, if we rush, we'll lose him," the tactician explained. Regardless, the entire footballing community will be watching Parthib's progress in translating his promise into performances this season.
