Paul Pogba Asserts He Is Not A Cheater And Seeks Return To Football Pitch

Paul Pogba claims he is not a cheater while acknowledging his responsibility in the doping case. His ban was reduced to 18 months, allowing him to train in January and play from March.

Paul Pogba has expressed that he is not a cheater, though he accepts responsibility for the doping test failure that resulted in his suspension. The Juventus and France player was initially banned for four years by Italy's national anti-doping tribunal due to elevated testosterone levels found in his system. However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) recently reduced his ban to 18 months, acknowledging that his consumption of the banned substance was unintentional.

Pogba, now 31, is eager to return to training in January and hopes to play again by March. He is passionate about resuming his football career. "This is not me, I'm not a cheater," Pogba stated to Sky Sports. "I'm someone that loves my sport, I love the game and I would never, ever cheat. I like to win fairly."

Pogba Insists He Is Not a Cheater

The midfielder admitted some fault for taking the supplement without thorough verification, even though it was provided by a professional. He remarked, "I take some responsibility because I took the supplement. I didn't triple-check, let's say it like that." Despite this oversight, Pogba believes a four-year ban was excessive.

Pogba is keen to rejoin Juventus and train with his teammates once more. He finds it challenging being isolated and practising alone. His primary goal is to regain fitness and return to playing football as soon as possible.

He added, "If I have to be punished, I am fine with it, but it should never be four years." Pogba's determination remains strong as he looks forward to being back on the field doing what he loves most.

Pogba's focus remains on returning to training with Juventus and getting back into competitive matches. His passion for football drives him as he prepares for his comeback in March.
