Paulo Dybala Faces Contract Uncertainty At Roma Ahead Of Derby Della Capitale
Paulo Dybala says the upcoming Derby della Capitale against Lazio may be the last time Roma supporters see Dybala play a home match for the club, with contract negotiations at a standstill and the current deal set to run out at the end of the season.
Roma have not yet opened renewal talks, and Dybala has made clear a desire for clarity as the campaign closes, explaining that time to secure an agreement is shrinking while the future remains open, with a decision expected once the season is finished.

Dybala described the uncertainty in direct terms, telling Sky Italia: "The truth is, I'd like to know something myself, but the club hasn't approached me yet. The contract says the derby will probably be my last match in front of the Roma fans. We'll see what happens at the end of the season."
While contract questions continue, Dybala stayed influential on the pitch, supplying an assist during Roma's 3-2 victory over Parma on Sunday, when Donyell Malen's penalty in the 101st minute at Stadio Ennio Tardini secured all three points and lifted Roma level with AC Milan in the race for Champions League qualification, with two league fixtures still to play.
The Champions League picture remains complex, and projection data underlines that. The Opta supercomputer gives Gian Piero Gasperini's side a 47.2% probability of returning to UEFA's main competition for the first time since 2018-19, with fifth place rated as their most likely finish at 32.7%, keeping the wider battle tight.
Dybala joined Roma from Juventus in July 2022 and, at 32 years old, has already delivered 138 appearances in all competitions for the Giallorossi, contributing 45 goals and 25 assists, yet the 2025-26 campaign has been disrupted by injuries, including a hamstring problem and knee surgery, restricting Dybala to 25 games so far.

Dybala linked Roma's contract situation and the Champions League chase, stressing the squad's mentality: "We've shown the determination and desire we have to secure a place in the Champions League. We know it doesn't depend solely on us, but we'll fight until the end," Dybala added, as Roma await both a final league verdict and a decision on the forward's long-term future.
