Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has announced his intention to step away from football management upon the conclusion of his current contract.
Guardiola's contract at the Premier League club runs till the 2026-27 season and the Spaniard is likely to end his stint at the Manchester club till that.

In a recent interview with ESPN Brasil, Guardiola stated his desire to take a break from the daily routine of football as his contract expires at City.
"After my contract with City, I'm going to stop. I am sure. I don't know if I'm going to retire, but I'm going to take a break," Guardiola was quoted as saying by Premier League.
Guardiola, who has been at the helm of Manchester City since 2016, has led the club through its most successful period, securing 18 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and the club's first UEFA Champions League triumph in 2023.
Reflecting on his legacy, he remarked, "All coaches want to win so we can have a memorable job, but I believe that the fans of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City have had fun watching my teams play."
He emphasized the transient nature of remembrance in football, stating, "I don't think we should ever live thinking about whether we're going to be remembered. When we die, our families cry for two or three days and then that's it, you're forgotten."
"The most important thing is not what people think of you. After all, our lives as footballers have been very good. There are new challenges as a coach. I don't know what will happen in the future and in the end that doesn't matter," the Man City manager further continued.
As he approaches the end of his tenure with Manchester City, Guardiola's focus remains on the present challenges, including securing Champions League qualification and preparing for the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace on May 17.
