Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed his interest in pursuing a coaching role at the international level before the end of his illustrious career in management.
Pep Guardiola, currently at the helm of Premier League champions Manchester City, has solidified his status as one of the most successful managers in the sport's history, amassing an impressive tally of 32 major titles across stints with Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City.

But despite his remarkable achievements at the club level, the 53-year-old tactician maintains a desire to test his mettle in the domain of international football. Guardiola's contractual commitment with Manchester City extends until 2025, leaving his immediate future with the club stable. Additionally, he hasn't ruled out the possibility of extending his stay at the Etihad Stadium. However, the Spanish manager has expressed his desire to coach a national team soon.
In a recent interview, Guardiola disclosed his aspirations beyond the confines of club football, highlighting his keen interest in leading a national team to glory in prestigious tournaments like the FIFA World Cup or the UEFA European Championship.
"A national team. I would like to train a national team for a World Cup or a European Championship. I would like that," Guardiola expressed during an interaction
While Guardiola remained discreet about his preferences regarding which national team he envisions coaching, he acknowledged the importance of mutual interest between himself and the respective football association.
"To work for a national team they have to want you, just like a club," Guardiola added.
The prospect of Guardiola assuming a managerial role with an international team has sparked speculation, with various nations, including England, Spain, Brazil, etc, being touted as potential destinations for the esteemed coach.
In particular, reports emerged in December suggesting that the Football Association (FA) had maintained communication with Guardiola regarding a prospective position with the England national team. Now with his comments, it can be asserted that a role in the national set-up could be in his planning soon.
