PHOTOS: EPL - Game week 27, Liverpool thrash Arsenal

Liverpool beat Arsenal 3-1, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur managed comfortable wins. Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw by Bournemouth.

Bengaluru, Mar 6: English Premier League (EPL) game week 27 kicked off with Manchester United's disappointing 1-1 draw against minnows AFC Bournemouth.

The Red Devils were on the back of EFL cup triumph and were expected to collect all three points and move up the league table.

Unfortunately, they failed to procure a win at their home ground as Zlatan Ibrahimovic failed convert a penalty.

United's arch-rival Liverpool won the headlining match of the game week convincingly against giants Arsenal.

The Reds thumped the Gunners 3-1 at Anfield to move up the league table. Arsenal's poor form, on the other hand, continues with this defeat.

After a week's rest due to Manchester United's EFL Cup final, Manchester City were back in action against Sunderland.

Pep Guardiola's men got yet another convincing win against Sunderland increasing David Moyes' woes. Sunderland are dwindling in the relegation zone.

Tottenham Hotspur too were in action and they managed an exciting 3-2 win against Everton. The Spurs retain their second position.

Liverpool players celebrate after scoring against Arsenal. It was a much-needed win for the Reds who have had a terrible form this year. Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Georgio Wijnaldum scored the goals for Liverpool. Danny Welbeck scored the consolation goal for Arsenal.

Danny Welbeck pulled one back for Arsenal in the second half after Liverpool took an early 2-0 lead. Welbeck's goal raised the Gunners' hope but Wijnaldum's third goal in the injury time hammered the last nail on Arsenal's coffin.

Manchester United were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by AFC Bournemouth. Marcos Rojo scored the opening goal for United but Joshua King scored the equaliser in the first half itself.

Manchester City defeated Sunderland 2-0 thanks to goals from Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane.

Tottenham Hotspur defeated Everton 3-2 in a nailbiting match to retain their second position in the league table. Harry Kane scored a brace and Dele Alli netted one for Spurs.
