Bengaluru, Feb 15: UEFA Champions League (UCL) round of 16 kicked off with a bang as Paris Saint-Germain thrash FC Barcelona 4-0 and Benfica defeated Dortmund 1-0.

Angel Di Maria scored a brace and Julian Draxler and Edinson Cavani netted 1 each to seal a dominating victory for PSG over giants Barcelona in the first leg of the round of 16.

The Catalan giants looked helpless in front of a spirited PSG side who outclassed the visitors in all departments.

Barcelona now needs a miracle to overturn the current scenario and qualify for the next round which at the moment looks impossible.

In another game, SL Benfica defeated Borussia Dortmund 1-0 thanks to a 48th-minute goal from Konstantinos Mitroglou.

Dortmund's star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed a penalty in Dortmund's night to forget.
