Pierre Sage Named Crystal Palace Manager After Glasner Departure
Crystal Palace confirm Pierre Sage as the new manager on a three-year contract at Selhurst Park. The appointment follows the end of Oliver Glasner's deal. Sage arrives after leading Lens to a historic domestic cup win and Champions League qualification. Crystal Palace seek to build on recent trophy success under the new leadership.
The Premier League club have lifted two major trophies in two seasons. Crystal Palace won the FA Cup in 2024-25 and claimed the Conference League title in 2025-26. Sage is tasked with extending that run and adding more silverware. "It's amazing to be here at Crystal Palace. I am excited by the history of the club, and by recent seasons," Sage told Palace's official club website.

Before joining Crystal Palace, Sage worked for one season as head coach of Lens in Ligue 1 during 2025-26. Lens secured a first Coupe de France triumph and earned a fourth Champions League appearance in club history. The 47-year-old also delivered a strong league campaign, finishing runners-up to Paris Saint-Germain by six points.
Across that Ligue 1 season, Sage recorded 22 victories in 34 matches, with four draws and eight defeats. Those numbers placed Lens second in the table behind champions Paris Saint-Germain. The achievement strengthened Sage’s reputation as an effective organiser and tactician ahead of the Crystal Palace move.

We won last yearand we want to continue, in a new club, a new project, but with a lot of winning habits. We want to give our best every day for the team, for the club, for the people, and especially for the fans, because when you love a club in England, it's for all your life. We want to give the fans what they want. We want to make the fans smile, to be proud of the team, and to be proud of the clubso we will give our best, and we are together."
Sage steps into a club with a positive recent record under Glasner and a support base expecting progress. The French coach highlights strong motivation and a desire to maintain winning habits. Crystal Palace enter the 2026-27 season aiming to compete in domestic cups and Europe under Sage’s guidance.
