Plymouth Argyle's manager, Wayne Rooney, acknowledges the criticism following his team's prolonged winless streak in the Championship. After a 2-0 defeat to Oxford United, Argyle has now gone nine games without a victory, drawing three and losing six. They are currently at the bottom of the table, four points away from safety.
Rooney faced boos from fans at Kassam Stadium but remains unfazed by the reaction. He told BBC Sport that he understands the frustration, having experienced it as a fan himself. "I think the criticism is normal with the results we're going through," he said. "You have to feel that you can turn it around."

Despite their struggles, Rooney is focused on analysing past performances and preparing for upcoming matches. He plans to review the game against Oxford United and get ready for their next fixture against Bristol City. "I'm going to go back, watch the game back, evaluate the game and prepare for Bristol City," he stated.
When asked about his job security, Rooney admitted uncertainty but emphasised his commitment to improving results. "That's a question for the board," he remarked. "I understand how football works so all I can do is keep trying to work as hard as I can."
The team has only managed four wins out of 23 league matches this season under Rooney's leadership. Despite their efforts, success has been elusive in recent weeks. "For all of us, we're trying to do the right things and help us win games," Rooney explained.
Plymouth Argyle will face Bristol City on New Year's Day at Home Park. The team has not secured a home victory since November 5th. As they prepare for this crucial match, both players and management are eager to break their winless streak and climb up from the bottom of the table.
