Mauricio Pochettino says the football environment in England still pulls strongly, as thoughts turn again to a possible Premier League return. Pochettino is currently focused on leading the United States at the World Cup, yet recent comments show the door to England is far from closed.
The Argentine has overseen the United States since September 2024, guiding preparations for the 2026 tournament. Despite that responsibility, discussion continues about another chapter in the Premier League, especially with Tottenham Hotspur facing pressure and some fans calling for a familiar figure to come back.

Pochettino has already worked in England on three separate occasions. The journey began at Southampton, continued with a five-year spell at Tottenham, and then included a turbulent season at Chelsea. At Spurs, Pochettino took the club to a Champions League final and a second-placed Premier League finish.
The 52-year-old previously declined interest in replacing Ange Postecoglou at the end of last season. Even so, Pochettino admits the English game still appeals on many levels. Pochettino told L'Equipe, as reported by BBC Sport: "I love the country, its culture, the football culture."
Pochettino expanded on why England continues to attract those who work in elite football. Pochettino said: "For anyone with a competitive spirit who wants to measure themselves against others and test their abilities, it's the ideal place. You have to constantly give your best."
Across Pochettino's time at Tottenham, the numbers in the Premier League highlight consistent performance. Pochettino managed 202 league matches there, more than any other Spurs manager in the competition. The record includes 113 wins, 43 draws and 46 defeats, with a win rate that stands among the club's best.

The win percentage of 56% places Pochettino third among managers who have overseen more than 10 Spurs league games. Pochettino is behind Tim Sherwood, on 59.1%, and Antonio Conte, on 57.1%. Those figures keep Pochettino's name in discussions whenever Tottenham seek a change.
Pochettino now concentrates on preparing the United States squad, as shown by early World Cup build-up work. However, the admiration expressed for English football culture, combined with previous success at Spurs, ensures any future Premier League vacancy is likely to feature Pochettino in speculation once again.
