Pochettino remarks Higuain as one of the greatest strikers in the world

London, March 7: In the 2nd leg round-of-16 of the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League, Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur will take on the last six-season consecutive Serie A title holder Juventus on this Wednesday (March 7) at Wembley Stadium (London).

In the first leg of this competition, hosts Juventus was held to a 2-2 draw by the Spurs. It means that a low-scoring draw in the return leg will be enough for Spurs to advance to the quarter-finals of 2017/18 UCL.

While the Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is not looking any stress ahead of this big game, but he is very careful about Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain. Spurs manager recently remarked the 30-years old Argentine striker as one of the greatest strikers in the world like Harry Kane, Paulo Dybala or Lionel Messi.

According to the Goal, the former Argentine centre-back quoted his countryman, "I think he (Higuain) is one of the greatest strikers in the world, with Harry Kane. We know his talent very well and sometimes it is not easy to stop him. Like Paulo Dybala or Lionel Messi, this type of player. We need to be careful with him but also careful with all of their players we are going to play against on Wednesday."

Higuain is returning to the squad after missing two previous matches for Juventus due to a minor ankle injury. In the first leg encounter between these two teams, Higuain had scored both the goals for his team while he had also missed a penalty in that game.

Juventus is one of the top-performing teams in the recent UCL as they were two-time runners-up in the previous three UCL seasons. On the other hand, the North-London club had played in the UCL quarter-finals for the last time in 2010/11.

Despite that, the Spurs manager is not feeling nervous as he thinks that it is a great chance for his team to advance to the next round. In this season, Spurs are running in a great form at their temporary home venue Wembley Stadium as they have only lost twice at this venue (one in Premier League and one in EFL Cup).

Pochettino is very positive about his team as he believes that they can win this encounter. He said, "We are a brave team - very positive people that love the challenge. We need to think we can win, we always think in this way, and then what happens will be a consequence of our performance. If we perform the way we usually do we will be close to winning and going through to the next stage."

While Higuain is returning to the squad, Juventus will miss another top-class forward Mario Mandzukic as he is facing a thigh problem.

Meanwhile, Spurs will miss their two defenders Toby Alderweireld (fitness issue) and Serge Aurier (suspension issue) for this match.
