Poland's hopes of advancing to the Nations League quarter-finals remain alive after a thrilling 3-3 draw against Croatia, who played with ten men. Michal Probierz's team must secure victories in their final two matches in November to have a shot at finishing in the top two. Meanwhile, Croatia missed an opportunity to close in on Group A3 leaders Portugal following their scoreless draw with Scotland.
The match began with Poland taking an early lead in the fifth minute. Piotr Zielinski's shot deflected off Martin Erlic, beating Dominik Livakovic. However, Borna Sosa quickly equalised for Croatia. The visitors then stunned the Stadion Narodowy crowd by scoring twice in quick succession. Petar Sucic found the far corner before assisting Martin Baturina for his first senior international goal.

Nicola Zalewski capitalised on poor Croatian defending just before half-time, reducing Poland's deficit. Robert Lewandowski entered the game shortly after the hour mark and made an immediate impact. Six minutes later, he set up Sebastian Szymanski, who curled a shot past Livakovic to level the scores.
The match took another turn when Livakovic was sent off for a high challenge on Lewandowski after clearing the ball. Despite having a numerical advantage, Poland couldn't capitalise on it.
Despite failing to exploit Livakovic's dismissal, Poland ended a streak of three losses against Croatia; their last win was in 2006. The hosts were unable to test substitute goalkeeper Nediljko Labrovic effectively. Kacper Urbanski had Poland’s only late attempts but missed the target.
Poland recorded an expected goals (xG) total of 1.25 from 14 shots compared to Croatia’s 1.39 from 15 attempts. Szymanski led Poland’s attack by creating more chances than any other player on the field.
This result leaves Poland needing strong performances in their remaining matches to progress further in the competition.
