Poland add extra striker against Costa Rica

By Super

HANOVER, June 20: Poland coach Pawel Janas added an extra man up front in the search for their first goal at this year's World Cup in their final Group A game today.

After defeats by Ecuador and Germany, Janas switched back to the 4-4-2 formation used in qualifying for the finals, with Ireneusz Jelen expected to partner Maciej Zurawski in attack.

The only other change is the return of central midfielder Miroslaw Szymkowiak in place of Radoslaw Sobolewski, who is suspended after a red card in the final minutes against Germany.

Costa Rica coach Alexandre Guimaraes has made three changes from the side that lost to Ecuador. In come defenders Jervis Drummond and Gabriel Badilla along with midfielder Christian Bolanos.
