Poland and the Netherlands will start their Euro 2024 campaign in a Group D match at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg, Germany on Sunday (June 16).

Poland had failed to finish in the top two in their Euro qualifying campaign and sneaked into the tournament but narrowly won the play-off. This will be the Eagles' fifth straight Euro campaign. In the last Euro, Poland had to return home from the group stage but this year also they had to fight hard to change their fate with this injury-hit squad.

The Oranje entered the tournament comfortably, unlike their opponents. Injury will be an issue for them but they still have a squad full of top players in almost every position. Like many major tournaments in the past, in this Euro also, the Netherlands is the dark horse of the tournaments, and they will certainly eye for the title for the second time.

Due to a muscle injury, Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona) will miss the match and it is a big blow to Michal Probierz's squad, as it will dampen the Eagles' attack against a highly experienced Dutch defence. Right back Matty Cash and striker Arkadiusz Milik are already out from this Euro due to injury. Though the Eagles have players like Piotr Zielinski (Napoli), Jakub Moder (Brighton) and Nicola Zalewski (Roma) in the midfield and Jan Bednarek and Jakub Kiwior (Arsenal) will lead the defence.

Injury will be a big problem for the Oranje, as players like Teun Koopmeiners and Frenkie de Jong already withdrew from the squad, Matthijs de Ligt will also miss the match.
