Lamine Yamal's father was stabbed in a coastal town in Catalonia, Mataro on August 15 morning at 9:10 AM. He was taken to the Can Ruti hospital and is still being monitored there. As per several reports, the Barcelona and Spain youngster's father Mounir Nasraoui is currently in stable condition.
As per videos emerging on social media, his father got into an argument earlier in the day with his neighbours and police had to intervene. The incident happening in Mataro, about 30 kilometers northeast of Barcelona has shocked people. Yamal's father has become a known face to fans for his unconditional support for his son.

Later on the day, Nasraoui shared a short message on Instagram saying, "feeling better." The Catalonyan police force has been active in investigating the incident. They have arrested three suspects on alleged attempted murder and are still looking for a fourth person still suspected in the incident.
The police force, known as Mossos d'Esquadra have released a statement saying, "Thanks to the collaboration of citizens and in conjunction with the Mataró Police, in less than two hours we arrested 3 yesterday and this morning a 4 person involved in the knife attack last night in the Rocafonda neighbourhood of Mataró."
Earlier this summer, Nasraoui was frequently seen in Germany supporting his son, Yamal, 17, during the Euro 2024. Yamal played seven matches for Spain this summer, scoring one goal and providing four assists. He greatly helped Las Rojas win the European Championship this year. He was also named Young Player of the Tournament after turning 17 just before the final.
Growing up and learning at Barcelona's La Masia academy from his young days, Yamal had a standout season in 2023-24. He made 50 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals, and providing nine assists. He became both Barcelona's youngest-ever debut and the youngest-ever goalscorer in La Liga history.
