Ange Postecoglou Expresses Pride In Tottenham's Europa League Final Achievement

Ange Postecoglou praised his Tottenham team for their resilience in reaching the Europa League final. Spurs overcame Bodo/Glimt with a 5-1 aggregate victory, showcasing their growth and determination.

Tottenham Hotspur's manager, Ange Postecoglou, expressed immense pride in his team after they secured a spot in the Europa League final. Spurs triumphed 2-0 against Bodo/Glimt, with goals from Dominic Solanke and Pedro Porro, sealing a 5-1 aggregate win. This victory sets up a final clash with Manchester United at San Mames on May 21.

The journey to the final was not without its hurdles for Tottenham. They faced a series of injuries earlier in the season, yet managed to persevere. Bodo/Glimt had an impressive record, winning nine of their last ten European home games before facing Spurs. Despite these challenges, Tottenham achieved their largest aggregate win in a major European semi-final.

Postecoglou Proud of Tottenham's Achievement

Postecoglou praised his players' resilience and adaptability. "Couldn't be prouder of the lads," he stated to TNT Sports. He acknowledged the difficulty of playing at Bodo/Glimt's ground but commended his team's maturity and understanding of what was needed to win. "We've grown in maturity and we understand exactly what's required," he added.

Dominic Solanke has been instrumental for Tottenham this season in the Europa League. With five goals and four assists, he has matched Carlos Vinicius's record from the 2020-21 campaign for most direct goal involvements by a Spurs player in major European competitions. Solanke expressed his determination to finish strong and lauded the support from fans.

Solanke shared his thoughts on the match: "(It feels) so good. It's been a long season and we're down to the business end." He highlighted the importance of discipline against Bodo/Glimt's strong start and praised the travelling supporters. "They're (the fans) phenomenal," he said, hoping for similar support in Bilbao.

Tottenham's path to this final has been marked by strategic squad utilisation and overcoming adversity. Postecoglou noted that having players return during knockout stages was beneficial. The team’s ability to adapt and perform under pressure has been crucial throughout their campaign.

As they prepare for their final showdown against Manchester United, Tottenham aims to carry forward their momentum and secure victory at San Mames. The dedication shown by both players and fans alike highlights their collective ambition to succeed on this grand stage.
