Dejan Kulusevski Affirms Ange Postecoglou As The Right Leader For Tottenham Amidst Challenges

Dejan Kulusevski has voiced his confidence in Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou, stating he is the right man to lead the club forward despite recent poor performances. Kulusevski believes in Postecoglou's vision and potential for success in upcoming competitions.

Dejan Kulusevski has expressed his unwavering support for Tottenham's manager, Ange Postecoglou, despite the team's recent struggles. Tottenham is set to face Elfsborg in the Europa League on Thursday, aiming to secure a top-eight finish. Currently sixth in their group after seven matches, they need a win to ensure automatic progression to the round of 16.

Tottenham's recent form has been concerning, with a surprising 2-1 loss to Leicester City leaving them 15th in the Premier League standings. They are eight points clear of the relegation zone but have not won any of their last seven league games, marking their longest winless streak since 2008. Despite this pressure, Kulusevski remains confident in Postecoglou's ability to turn things around.

Kulusevski Supports Postecoglou at Tottenham

Kulusevski highlighted some standout performances under Postecoglou's leadership. "We had games where we showed perfect football," he stated, referencing impressive matches against Manchester United and Manchester City. "I think he is the right man. We want to win for him... I have to fight for him because I believe in that football too."

The Swedish international emphasised his belief in Postecoglou's vision and tactics, dismissing external opinions. "Opinions change, I don't listen to anyone," Kulusevski said. "I know the truth, I see the truth from my side." He stressed the importance of staying focused on their objectives despite recent setbacks.

Postecoglou remains optimistic about Tottenham's prospects this season. He previously mentioned his track record of winning trophies in his second season with clubs. Currently leading 1-0 against Liverpool in their EFL Cup semi-final, Spurs also have a promising chance in the Europa League.

According to Opta simulations, Tottenham has an 11% probability of winning the Europa League, trailing only Athletic Bilbao and Lazio. As they prepare for Elfsborg at home, Spurs boast an unbeaten run of 16 home games in European competitions since February 2020.

Focus on Cup Competitions

Kulusevski acknowledged Tottenham's strong performances in cup competitions this season. "We are doing really well in the cups," he noted. While league results have been challenging, he believes success is attainable through cup tournaments.

"Tomorrow is an important game and if we win we are through to the next round," Kulusevski added regarding their upcoming match against Elfsborg. He remains hopeful about achieving significant accomplishments over the remaining months of the season.

Despite current challenges, both Kulusevski and Postecoglou maintain faith in Tottenham's potential for success this season. Their focus on cup competitions could provide a path forward as they aim for silverware.
