Premier League 2023-24: Records Erling Haaland Can Break This Season After Outstanding Debut Campaign

Manchester City star striker Erling Haaland experienced a lacklustre start to his new career in England when he faced Liverpool in Community Shield last season.

The Norway international lost the curtain raiser and looked sloppy on his debut. The rivals fan left no stone unturned mocking the promising striker. However, what happened next over a long season stunned every football fan.

The former RB Leipzig star almost broke every Premier League record in his debut season and guided his side to a comprehensive Premier League victory coupled with the Champions League and FA Cup trophy.

With less than a week remaining before the Premier League stars, again a lot of expectations will be on the Manchester City star striker to deliver. And fans undoubtedly after a blistering last season will hope that the 23-year-old could pull off a couple of records to his name. Here are some records which still remain to be broken for Haaland:

1. Most goals in all competitions

English legend Dixie Dean scored a humongous 63 goals in the 1927/1928 season in all competitions. Haaland scored 52 goals last season across all tournaments. To break this record, he needs to be more lethal this season onwards.

2. Quickest player to 50 Premier League goals

The fastest to reach 50 goals in Premier League is in the hands of former Manchester United legend Andy Cole, who reached the milestone in 65 games. Haaland scored a record 36 goals in a single Premier League campaign last season. The Norway international now needs just 14 more goals in his next 29 appearances to break that record.

3. Quickest to 40 Champions League goals

As of now, the 23-year-old holds the record for the fastest 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 goals in the UEFA Champions League in 30 games. He now only needs five more goals in his next 14 games to surpass Ruud Van Nisterlooy's record of 45 appearances for 40 goals.

4. Most Champions League in a single campaign

Haaland scored 12 goals in his Champions League-winning season last term. However, that's still far best than Cristiano Ronaldo's highest-scoring season -17. He needs to be at his best next season again to break the landmark.

5. Norway's all-time top-scorer

Similar to his club performance, Haaland is a goal-scoring machine for his country as well. He already has scored 24 goals for Norway. The upcoming campaign can see him surpassing that as well to become Norway's all-time top scorer as well. Norway legend Jorgen Juve has 23 goals to his name as top scorer and Haaland needs just nine more goals to achieve the feat.
