A new season of the English Premier League is around the corner as the long journey of the English domestic football campaign starts from August 16.

20 top-flight teams of English football will battle it out for the ultimate glory, as a plethora of stars across the globe will aim to produce their best for their respective clubs.

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal have fought till the end in the last two seasons and the Gunners will be desperate to take the next step and beat City to end their two-decade-long league title drought.

As mentioned, some of the biggest names of world football will be looking to break the shackles and get the elusive goals for their clubs. The Golden Boot, which is given to the highest goal scorer of the Premier League in a season has always been a hot contest, but Erling Haaland has made it his own in the last two. Hence, this term will be a big test for the other challengers to showcase their mettle.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

The Liverpool maverick Mohamed Salah had a decent outing last season. He scored 18 league goals and finished 7th in the race. The Egypt international will be looking forward for a more prolific run this season, as the Reds aim to fight for the title. Salah was poised to leave the Reds but has decided to stay, and can be among the top scorers this season as well.

Erling Haaland (Manchester City)

Manchester City's Nordic gladiator Erling Haaland has been a phenomenon for them in the last two seasons, winning the Golden Boot award in canters. Haaland scored 27 and 36 goals in the last two seasons as he managed to get the award quite comfortably with the margin of 5 and 6 goals respectively. The 24-year-old will be aiming to win a hattrick of the top accolade this season and is definitely going to be in the running.

Ivan Toney (Brentford)

Ivan Toney missed out a huge part of last season due to disciplinary charges. The Brentford striker is a top player and is expected to be among the top scorers this season. He netted 21 goals for the Bees two seasons ago and has always been a top striker.

Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)

Although Arsenal had many goal-scorers with more than 10 goals in the league last season, Bukayo Saka has always been the standout player for them. The Starboy, as he is often known, scored 16 goals and made 9 assists last term, his best return in a season. And the England international will be aiming to reach even greater heights this term and fire his team towards a Premier League title. Given the quality Saka oozes, he is definitely going to be among the summit chasers.

Cole Palmer (Chelsea)

Cole Palmer had a sublime outing for Chelsea last season. After a switch from Man City, the young English star scored 22 goals for the Blues. He was excellent all season and was perhaps the sole positive for the London club amid a disastrous campaign. As a fresh new season arrives under new boss Enzo Maresca, Palmer can be the key man for Chelsea and is tipped to be among the contenders for the Golden Boot.
