In a major step to expand its footprint in South Asia, the Premier League has announced the launch of its new office in Mumbai, India. This move aims to enhance fan engagement, foster stronger relationships with local stakeholders, and support the long-term development of football across both grassroots and elite levels in the country.
India has been a key market for the Premier League for years, with millions of dedicated fans tuning in regularly. Since 2007, the League has been running its Premier Skills programme in collaboration with the British Council.

The initiative has played a vital role in community football development, operating in over 18 Indian states. To date, it has trained more than 7,300 coaches, referees, and educators, and positively impacted over 124,000 young players.
At the elite level, the Premier League has been working closely with the Indian Super League (ISL) since 2014. This collaboration has focused on exchanging knowledge in key areas such as youth development, coaching, refereeing, and football governance. A key milestone in this partnership came in 2019 with the launch of the Next Gen Cup-an international youth tournament co-organised with the ISL and Reliance Foundation. The tournament brings together top youth sides from India and U19 teams from Premier League clubs. Its sixth edition is set to take place in Mumbai in May 2025.
The newly established India office will act as a local base to drive football development and connect with fans more directly. It will also help deepen the Premier League's collaboration with national football bodies and its long-term broadcast partner JioStar.
Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters said:
"We and our clubs have a fantastic and knowledgeable fanbase in India, and we know football continues to grow in popularity. We are proud of our longstanding commitment to India, having worked to deliver community football programmes for 18 years and, more recently, our partnership with the Indian Super League.
"Opening this office marks a significant milestone for the Premier League. It will allow us to operate more effectively locally as we build on our existing work to establish more ways to strengthen our relationship with fans, JioStar and other partners. We are looking forward to the opportunities it will create in the region."
The Mumbai office becomes the League's fourth international base, joining previously launched offices in Singapore (2019), New York (2023), and Beijing (2024), each aimed at strengthening global operations, enhancing fan outreach, and combating content piracy.
