Premier League trio set to battle for Jack Butland

Bengaluru, February 12: Stoke City have been quite poor this season but the Potters number one Jack Butland is expected to be a man in demand in the summer.

The Englishman, who is expected to start for the Three Lions under the bar in the World Cup in summer, is wanted by Liverpool, Arsenal plus London rivals Chelsea and we can expect a bidding war for the 24-year-old.

Jurgen Klopp has reportedly had enough of Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius between the sticks and wants Butland in summer to strengthen his backline.

But, the Stoke keeper is also wanted by Gunners manager Arsene Wenger to replace 35-year-old Petr Cech.

Meanwhile, Chelsea could also enter the bidding war as Thibaut Courtois is yet to commit his future to the Blues and will enter the final 12 months of his contract.

The three clubs will go head to head in the summer to land the England goalkeeper, who has made no secret of his ambition to play at the highest level.

Klopp has axed Simon Mignolet as his No1 and the Belgian is ready to quit Anfield after showdown talks with his boss last month.

Loris Karius has been in goal for Premier League games since New Year’s Day and has not done much wrong.

However, it is believed that the next few months will decide Karius' future at the club.

Butland returned from a serious ankle injury and was playing at the end of last season, while this campaign he has missed just three Premier League games.

Arsenal’s Cech is 36 this season and is nowhere near the player he was before.

He still has one year left in his contract but the Czech Republic international has made big errors this season and is expected to be replaced next summer.
