Kolkata, March 14: In-form Burnley winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson has sparked a £20million three-way scrap to land him this summer. Newcastle United, Leicester and Southampton have all shown interest in the Iceland international after his impressive campaign with the Clarets in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old has started every game since October and has played a key role in getting the Clarets into the Premier League top seven.

Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez is a massive fan of the ex-Charlton midfielder, while Leicester are expected to lose Riyad Mahrez and are looking at replacements.

Southampton have been long-term admirers of Gudmundsson as well and will also join the race if they manage to avoid relegation.

Meanwhile, Burnley will look to offer Gudmundsson a fresh deal to reward one of their finest players of the season with the hope of building on a successful season.

He has one season left on his current deal and the Clarets can trigger an extension.

But the trio of clubs chasing him are set to test Burnley in the summer with offers, with his value likely to increase at the World Cup.

Burnley were victorious in their last outing as they put three past struggling West Ham.

They face West Brom on Saturday (March 17) as they look to catch up with sixth-placed Arsenal which will be yet another feather in the cap for Sean Dyche's side.

Burnley will surely be reluctant to lose one of their best players despite having a successful season but even if they do sell, they should do it after the World Cup with the Iceland international set to feature in the biggest tournament in World football as his value would surely increase after that.
