Barcola Header Secures Paris Saint-Germain Victory At Le Havre To Extend Ligue 1 Lead

Paris Saint-Germain beat Le Havre 1-0 with Bradley Barcola's first-half header, lifting PSG four points clear at the Ligue 1 summit. Le Havre pressed late, with Diaw making several key saves and Doué missing a late penalty, but PSG held on to maintain their advantage.

Paris Saint-Germain edged Le Havre 1-0 at Stade Oceane in Ligue 1, yet the narrow margin did not match their control. Bradley Barcola scored the only goal and Paris Saint-Germain finished the night four points above Lens, strengthening the league lead after a performance full of chances but short on finishing.

Expected goals highlighted that imbalance. Paris Saint-Germain generated 3.88 xG from 22 attempts, while Le Havre reached 1.33 xG from only nine shots. Mory Diaw delivered seven saves for Le Havre, including a late penalty stop, and kept the scoreline close when Paris Saint-Germain threatened to pull away.

Barcola header seals PSG win at Le Havre

The winning moment arrived in the 37th minute after Lee Kang-in grew into the game. Lee forced a save from Mory Diaw, then delivered a precise cross from the right. Bradley Barcola attacked the delivery with a firm header, guiding the ball beyond the goalkeeper and giving Paris Saint-Germain a lead that never disappeared.

Before that breakthrough, Paris Saint-Germain had already pressed Le Havre deep. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia saw a shot hooked away from the goal-line inside two minutes. Achraf Hakimi then drove a powerful strike from distance against the left post. Lee Kang-in later shot well wide, while Dro Fernandez had a finish disallowed for offside against Achraf Hakimi.

Le Havre struggled in possession after the interval and gifted another chance near their area. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia collected the ball and clipped the base of the right post. Desire Doue then earned a penalty after a foul by Lucas Gourna-Douath, but the midfielder’s low effort was beaten away by Mory Diaw diving to the right.

That penalty save kept Le Havre alive and followed another busy spell for Mory Diaw. Despite the pressure, Le Havre could not create enough clear opportunities to punish Paris Saint-Germain. The visitors’ win also extended a long pattern: Le Havre have hosted Paris Saint-Germain five times in all competitions this century and lost every match.

Paris Saint-Germain left Stade Oceane with three points, a clean sheet and a stronger grip on first place. The performance underlined attacking strength, with multiple strikes against the woodwork, but also wastefulness from the spot. Le Havre relied heavily on Mory Diaw, and the goalkeeper’s display ensured the contest stayed competitive until the final whistle.
