PSG Captain Marquinhos Addresses Team's Efficiency Issues After Champions League Draw With PSV Eindhoven

Achraf Hakimi's remarkable goal secured a point for PSG after Noa Lang put PSV ahead in the 34th minute. Despite their struggles in this year's competition, PSG has scored 25 goals in Ligue 1.Luis Enrique's team has found it challenging to score in the Champions League, with Hakimi's equaliser being only their second goal of the tournament. In contrast, they have been prolific domestically. The match against PSV saw PSG dominate possession and create numerous opportunities, recording 26 shots, the most against PSV since Tottenham managed 30 in November 2018.Marquinhos highlighted efficiency as a key issue, stating, "Efficiency was our main problem because we had a lot of chances." He noted that while PSG created many opportunities early on, they failed to convert them. In contrast, PSV capitalised on their chances and took the lead, altering the game's dynamics.

Despite numerous attempts, only eight of PSG's shots were on target. Their performance fell short of their expected goals (xG) by 1.57. Ousmane Dembele hit the post in the 18th minute, while Bradley Barcola and Lee Kang-In posed threats but rarely tested PSV goalkeeper Walter Benitez.Luis Enrique commented on his team's style of play: "We are among the teams who create the most chances."
