Lionel Messi

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) fans have seemingly coined a new nickname for their star forward Lionel Messi although it is not something the Argentine superstar will be happy with.

As pre reports in France, PSG faithful have given him nickname 'Le traître', which roughly translates to 'the traitor'. The fans are believed to be frustrated with Messi for not signing a new deal at the Parc des Princes despite the club making multiple efforts to renew his deal. The 35-year-old's current deal at the Parc des Princes runs until the end of the current season.

Here we will take a look at Messi's famous nicknames over the years.

La Pulga Atomica - Spanish media outlets gave him the nickname 'La Pulga Atomica' which means 'the atomic flea'. It was assigned to him because of how easily he can physically dominate his opponents despite his small stature.

GOAT- Lionel Messi is also called 'GOAT' which means Greatest Of All Time. It's a tag he shares with his eternal rival Cristiano Ronaldo.
