PSG interested in a move for Marco Asensio, a good deal?

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly preparing a swoop for Real Madrid wizard Marco Asensio on a free transfer this summer. According to Catalan outlet El Nacional, Les Parisiens are looking to grab the Spaniard on a free transfer with his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu set to expire next month.

It has been claimed that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is still unhappy with Real Madrid after they tried to lure Kylian Mbappe away from the club on more than one occasion in the past. While the Frenchman ended up staying in the French capital by signing an extension, rumors regarding his future refuse to dry down.

Mbappe continues to be linked with a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu and Nasser Al-Khelaifi is therefore looking for a revenge on Los Blancos. has already rejected several extension offers from the Spanish capital club and is widely expected to leave this summer. While the Spaniard loves the club, he has concerns over his playing time.

Asensio has been at Real Madrid since 2014 but has never been able to establish himself as an assured starter. The versatile attacker reportedly feels that he is not valued enough by manager Carlo Ancelotti and is therefore looking for pastures.

Despite not being a regular, Asensio's numbers have been quite impressive this season. He has played just 1964 minutes this season and has scored 12 goals and provided eight assists this season and is the third highest goalscorer for his side.

With the potential departure of Lionel Messi likely and Neymar also looking elsewhere, a move for Asensio could be a great one for PSG.He is still only just 27 years of age and has proven himself at the highest level over the years.

However, being a free agent, he has attracted interest from across the top clubs, with Premier League sides like Arsenal and Aston Villa also rumored to be interested. Therefore, bringing the 27-year-old to the Parc des Princes won't be a cakewalk for the Parisians.
