Paris Saint-Germain Secures Emphatic 4-1 Win Against Le Havre In Ligue 1 Opener

Paris Saint-Germain defeated Le Havre 4-1 in their Ligue 1 season opener, overcoming an early injury and capitalising on late goals to secure victory.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) began their Ligue 1 campaign with a 4-1 victory over Le Havre on Friday. The French champions capitalised on a late collapse by the hosts to secure the win. Goncalo Ramos set up Lee Kang-in for an early goal, but Ramos was soon injured and replaced by Randal Kolo Muani.

PSG's joy was short-lived as Ramos had to leave the field due to an injury after his assist. Randal Kolo Muani came on and quickly made an impact, hitting the crossbar shortly after his introduction. Le Havre had a goal disallowed for offside in the first half, keeping PSG's lead intact.

PSG Wins 4-1 in Ligue 1 Season Start

After the break, Gautier Lloris equalised for Le Havre in the 48th minute. However, Josue Casimir's goal was ruled out by VAR for handball during the build-up. Lee Kang-in nearly scored again but struck the woodwork.

With five minutes remaining, PSG substitutes took control of the game. Ousmane Dembele headed in a goal in the 85th minute, followed by Bradley Barcola's strike less than two minutes later. Kolo Muani then converted a penalty after being fouled by Lloris, completing the 4-1 rout.

"Our Parisians win to start the league! #HACPSG (1-4)," PSG tweeted after their victory.

Historic Achievements

Lee Kang-in's early goal was notable as it was the fastest first goal of a Ligue 1 season since Mamadou Niang's strike for Marseille in August 2009. Additionally, PSG became the first team since Monaco in November 2016 to score at least three goals from the 85th minute onwards in a single Ligue 1 match.

Under Luis Enrique, PSG have extended their unbeaten run in away games to 25 matches, winning 20 and drawing five. This is now the longest such streak in their history.

The match showcased PSG's resilience and depth, with substitutes making significant contributions to secure a convincing win. The team's performance sets a positive tone for their Ligue 1 season ahead.
