Goncalo Ramos Doubles As Paris Saint-Germain Thrash Fontenay To Reach Coupe De France Last 32

Goncalo Ramos bagged a brace as Paris Saint-Germain cruised past Vendee Fontenay 4-0 to advance to the Coupe de France last 32. Dembele and Doue added goals before the break, with Ramos completing his double after the interval as PSG dominated from start to finish.

Paris Saint-Germain eased into the Coupe de France last 32 with a 4-0 win over fifth-tier Vendee Fontenay, as Goncalo Ramos struck twice after half-time to complete a controlled display. Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue scored before the interval, and PSG’s greater quality, fitness and depth showed throughout a one-sided tie played at Stade de la Beaujoire.

Ramos led the attack and produced a standout performance for PSG, finishing with two goals, six shots and constant movement in the penalty area. The forward’s display underlined Luis Enrique’s decision to pick a strong side, with Paris Saint-Germain closing out the year with another convincing domestic cup victory.

Ramos doubles as PSG beat Fontenay 4-0

PSG controlled possession from the opening minutes and created the first major chance when Ramos met a cross after 10 minutes, sending a looping header over Noah Renou’s bar. Fontenay sat deep and tried to limit space, yet struggled to relieve pressure as Paris Saint-Germain recycled attacks and pushed full-backs high.

The breakthrough came in the 25th minute, when Dembele slid a precise pass between defenders for Doue, who stayed calm and guided a low finish into the bottom-left corner. That goal settled PSG further, and Fontenay’s defensive structure began to stretch as runners from midfield and wide areas exploited gaps between the lines.

Paris Saint-Germain doubled their advantage nine minutes after the opener. Ramos drove into the box and was brought down by Antonin Moisdon, leaving the referee with a straightforward penalty decision. Dembele took responsibility from the spot and placed the kick beyond Renou, tightening PSG’s grip on the Coupe de France contest before half-time.

With a two-goal cushion at the break, Luis Enrique’s side restarted at high intensity and moved out of sight within eight minutes. Senny Mayulu advanced down the right and delivered a low centre towards the six-yard box, where Ramos arrived on cue to guide the ball past Renou from close range.

Goncalo Ramos and PSG extend lead and chase hat-trick

Ramos quickly added a second goal, punishing a costly error from Nathan Fromaget. The Fontenay defender attempted a pass back towards Renou, but under-hit it, allowing the Portugal international to intercept, round the goalkeeper and finish. That strike ended any remaining doubt around the result and highlighted Paris Saint-Germain’s pressing.

The forward almost completed a hat-trick late on. Another accurate cross from Mayulu found Ramos in space, and the striker tried an acrobatic finish that flew off target. PSG still managed the closing stages comfortably, keeping possession, limiting counter-attacks and preserving energy ahead of future fixtures across Ligue 1 and other competitions.

PSG, Goncalo Ramos and Coupe de France data debrief

Statistically, Ramos was central to everything Paris Saint-Germain produced in attack, recording team-high numbers for shots, touches in the opposition box and successful dribbles. PSG’s attacking metrics under Luis Enrique continue to stand out, with the team scoring freely across domestic and European competitions during the 2025 calendar year.

Paris Saint-Germain generated an expected goals figure of 3.92 from 14 attempts, reflecting the volume and quality of chances. Fontenay managed only five shots, with two on target and an xG of 0.36. The numbers underlined PSG’s control both with the ball and in defensive structure, restricting clear openings for the lower-league side.

The victory marked PSG’s 50th win of 2025 in all competitions, the highest total recorded by any Ligue 1 club in a single calendar year. Ramos now has 10 goals across 28 appearances in all competitions for PSG this season, more than any other player in the squad, adding depth to Paris Saint-Germain’s attacking options.

PSG have now scored at least four goals in 22 matches in all competitions during the 2025 calendar year, more than any other side from Europe’s top five leagues, with Barcelona next on 19 such games. The performance against Vendee Fontenay continued that trend, as Paris Saint-Germain combined efficiency in front of goal with control across all phases of play.
