Bengaluru, August 10: French giants Paris Saint-Germain are still in the race to sign Alexis Sanchez this summer and, despite knowing the fact that his first preference is Manchester City, they want to test the resolve of Arsenal by offering a financial package that proves too good to turn down.
The French club have already stunned the whole football world by prising away Neymar from Barcelona in a world-record £200 million deal and French media claim that it only marks the start of what is over the next few years set to be the most ambitious spending spree seen in football.
PSG are also in the mix for AS Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe, but reckon that the youngster wants a move to Real Madrid.
Arsenal star Sanchez has shown no interest in signing a new deal with Arsene Wenger's side this summer, with the Chilean rejecting the London club's latest advances, which are believed to include an offer of around £250,000-a-week, with reports claiming that Man City would be unwilling to offer Sanchez as much despite the forward's desire to join former boss Pep Guardiola.
As it stands, Arsenal would reject any offer for the Chilean, meaning Sanchez would have to wait until the end of the season to move on a free transfer or can sign a pre-contract with any club in January.
PSG would however be willing to offer him up to £400,000 a week in a bid to turn the player's head, and also feel they could tempt Arsenal into a sale this summer with a suitable offer.
Well, to be fair £80m could prove to be too tempting an offer for Arsenal to reject as they know that they will lose their best player for nothing next summer. So, the Sanchez saga looks far from done!, PSG believe they can get him.
Arsenal welcome Leicester City on Friday (August 11) for the Premier League curtain raiser and will be without star names including Sanchez, confirmed by Wenger in the pre-match conference. The Chilean will miss the first two games of the season with speculations on his future growing more stronger.
