PSG in touch with Lionel Messi's father over a possible transfer

Paris, Nov 29: Ligue 1 giants and European powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly in touch with Lionel Messi's father Jorge in order to sign the Argentine superstar.

According to French radio RTL France, PSG's director of football Patrick Kluivert has met Jorge Messi in order to strike a deal for his son in the coming summer. Jorge Messi is also Lionel Messi's agent.

The defending Ligue 1 giants are apparently adamant to rope in the FC Barcelona star to strengthen their squad. The superstar is yet to sign a contract extension with the La Liga giants.

A few day, media reports in Spain had suggested that Messi may reject a renewed offer from Barcelona for a contract extension.

Messi's present contract with Barcelona expires in 2018. The Spanish side will go to any extent to keep Messi at the club given the fact he is their most cherished player.

Barcelona are reportedly going to offer a huge wage which will surely lure Messi to stay. At the moment PSG is one of those few clubs who can afford to pay a huge transfer fee as well as offer him an attractive wage.

The Catalans take on arch-rivals Real Madrid in the season's first 'El Clasico' on Saturday, December 3. They are struggling at the moment in the second position in the league tabel 6 points less than the 'Los Blancos'.
