This marks PSG’s second appearance in a final within five years and also for the club’s entire history. Meanwhile, for Inter Milan, this is their second final since 2023, when they were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Manchester City.
PSG’s journey to the final included defeating three Premier League teams—Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal, in consecutive knockout stages. They defeated Arsenal in the semi-finals with a 3-1 aggregate score. Inter’s path saw them eliminate top-tier clubs Bayern Munich and Barcelona in the quarters and semis, respectively.
Victory in this clash would secure Inter’s sole trophy of the season, having already missed out on both Coppa Italia and Serie A titles. On the other hand, a win for PSG would mark their maiden UCL championship and complete a continental treble, having clinched both Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France.
This 2024-25 Champions League final marks the inaugural meeting between these sides.
