PSV Eindhoven's manager, Peter Bosz, expressed disappointment over their Champions League loss to Juventus. The defeat came after Samuel Mbangula scored a late goal. PSV had initially bounced back from Weston McKennie's early strike with Ivan Perisic equalising in the 56th minute. Despite creating chances to secure a win, Mbangula's late intervention gave Thiago Motta's team an edge for the second leg.
This result extends PSV's winless streak against Italian clubs in the Champions League to six matches (D1 L5). This is currently their longest run without a victory against teams from one nation. Bosz lamented the loss, stating, "I think it's a shame. I didn't think it was necessary to lose." He attributed the defeat to minor details that often decide high-stakes matches.

Bosz further commented on the match dynamics, noting that after a challenging start, PSV managed to control the game. "We dared to play football and the first big chance came our way," he said. The team equalised with a well-executed goal but ultimately failed to maintain their position.
The decisive goal resulted from an error by PSV's goalkeeper Walter Benitez. He mishandled Francisco Conceicao's cross, allowing Mbangula to score. Despite these errors, Bosz praised Ivan Perisic for his outstanding performance. The Croatian veteran scored a remarkable equaliser by skillfully controlling Noa Lang's blocked shot before scoring past Michele Di Gregorio.
Bosz highlighted Perisic’s contribution: "I think what he showed was very special. Not only because he scored, but I think it was a very well-taken goal." His performance stood out despite the team's overall struggles in securing a win.
As PSV prepares for the return leg, they will need to address these issues and capitalise on their opportunities if they hope to overturn the deficit against Juventus.
