Srinagar, Sep 9: Punjab will clash with Uttar Pradesh tomorrow in the finals of the 53rd national school games under-19 football championship for boys.
Ajay Singh netted twice to help Punjab register a 3-1 win over Kerala in an evenly contested semi-final here today.
Singh draw the first blood for Punjab in the 8th minute when he scored from the top of the box. Dalbir Singh consolidated Pujab's position when he netted in the 19th minute.
After muffing a number of scoring chances, Kenistan reduced the margin for Kerala in the 61st minute.
Mahinder Singh of Punjab was shown the red card for a rough tackle on a Kerala player in the 42nd minute.
It was again Ajay Singh who made it 3-1 for Punjab shortly before the final whistle.
In second semi-final, Uttar Pradesh had a hardfought 2-1 victory over Madhya Pradesh.
Madhya Pradesh took the lead in 17th minute when Om Prakesh netted the ball into Uttar Pradesh's goal. However, there joy was shortlived as Sunil Kumar levelled the score in 30th minute.
After one all at half time, Amit Kumar scored the winner for Uttar Pradesh in the 60th minute.
